Millennial Woman Crowdsource Video

Do you want to be featured in the crowdsourced music video for Millennial Woman?

We’re working on a new video for Millennial Woman, and would love for YOU to be in it!

We’re experimenting with a crowd-sourced video made up of shots of women and girls "singing" and dancing to the song: www.millennial-woman.com

Lyrics: https://www.stephaniechoumusic.com/lyrics-millennial-woman

This is fairly casual - we want to show real women and girls doing real things.

HERE’S WHAT WE HAVE SO FAR:

MW Crowdsource 50-sec Edit

But we need your help to finish it! We’re hoping to make something like one of these videos with a wide variety of submissions:

We’ve gotten started with a few clips, but we need your help to add more! The more submissions we receive, the more exciting the video will be!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please send a snippet of 5 to 15 seconds or so (or more) with some animated actions and singing along/lip-syncing to the rhythm of a portion of the song.

Have fun, dance, be silly. Or do something that you feel represents how you feel about the song. You can take this as far as you'd like: 5-15 seconds or the whole song. Just your face or a fully choreographed routine in costumes with multiple people. In your living room or on the streets of your town. With props, in costumes, or none of that. While playing an instrument, cooking, doing some other activity. Hand-drawn lyrics, while doing yoga, while scuba diving...! We want to make this fun and doable for you. So feel free to be creative!

If you want to do something different than suggested, feel free! We want you to have fun and feel inspired.

  • You don't have to lip sync to the entire song - a short portion is fine, as much as you want is fine. The only request is for you to do the "we will, we will" part.

  • Areas needing the most coverage right now are: the verses, musical interlude sections (anything that's not the chorus), but we'll take what you submit.

  • Reminder - we won't be using any audio so don't worry if your singing is "on key"! It generally lines up better and looks more realistic if you can actually sing the song or make some sound while filming (rather than being completely silent but only moving your mouth).

  • Dress Code - up to you, but please try to stay away from busy patterns (solids look better on camera) and cluttered backdrops

  • Filming - You can film anywhere you see fit (indoors, outdoors, underwater), cell phone footage is totally fine. If you have a video camera, that's great, but not required. Please film horizontally, ideally in a well-lit place where your face is clearly visible. If you can use a tripod or have a friend hold the camera, that is better than if you hold the camera yourself. If using a cell phone, please film using the best lens possible (ie the camera on the back of the phone is better than the camera on the front or shooting in "selfie" mode).

  • Approval - If you want to participate, we would also of course give you a chance to approve any footage of you, and you can change your mind/choose to not be in it if you're not happy with how it's turning out. We plan to post the final video on Youtube, the website page, etc.

  • Submission - please email all footage to stephchoumusic@gmail.com via Dropbox or GoogleDrive link, Wetransfer, etc.

If you do volunteer for this, you could be in a video that (we hope) will get lots of attention and viewership, and promote our message and RBG's legacy.

We hope you will say yes!
